THE FORMIDABLE REUNION 2008

REUNION 2008

The reunion this year will take place the weekend after the August Bank Holiday which will be Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st. The venue for meeting on the Saturday will be the TRAVEL INN, PORTISHEAD, 08701 977212. You will need to book early if you are staying overnight as they get busy at the weekend. We will meet here from 1pm onwards. If you cannot get booked in at the Travel Inn the alternative is DAYS INN, GORDANO SERVICES (M5), PORTISHEAD, 01275 373707.

Ron Thomas has got something arranged for the Saturday night at `The Poacher`, Portishead. If you want a meal there let me know so that we can book up as with a large party they will need notice to book a table. The Sunday has been arranged by Trevor White. We will be going to the Church for a Memorial Service at 11.30am during which Peter Derbyshire (benbow) will play the Last Post on his bugle. This will be followed at 12.15pm by an invitation from the Chairman of Feddon Village, Peter Bell to drinks and nibbles. I have an original `Nash` Drum which was given to me by Cyril Bush who inherited it from his good friend Norman Hefford after his death. I will donate this to Feddon Village.

Bob Bartlett and I went to Plymouth recently and met and ex officer Tony Penprase and `old boy` Ken(Spillspury) Burt. They are coming to the reunion for the first time. Peter Derbyshire also from Plymouth will be bringing Tony Penprase.

Some of us meet up in Portishead on the Friday night. We usually have a meal and end up in the `Phoenix Bar` which many of you know belongs to `old boy` Tony(Smutt)Smith and his wife Monica.

Look forward to seeing all who can make it. A good idea from Frank Young(Defence 1) regarding name badges.
