ALBERT THOMAS

My grandfather, Albert Thomas,
was born in Wells, Somerset in1870, volunteered for the
RN in Sept 1884, and commenced time (10 years) in July 1887. He kept a diary
whilst serving on the flagship of the Mediterranean Station in 1892.
The ship was the "Sans Pareil" commissioned at Chatham on 9th Feb
1892.
Whilst there during this tour of duty, my grandmother joined him and their first
child, was born in Malta.
There is a photograph of my mother at about two years of age, sitting on some
ropes on the deck of the Clio, she was born in 1907. Also another photo taken
at the same time, of my grandparents, my two uncles and my mother.
